What are Backboards & When do I need them?
*You Do Not require any Backboards if you are purchasing the Tongue & Groove Style Panels*
Backboards are a 6mm Sheet that go behind your panels, we would only advise you purchase your DIY Wall Panels with backboards if you have one of the following:
Your walls aren’t smooth (ie. Rough Plastering)
Your walls aren’t straight or crooked (ie. Walls in older houses are normally never straight.)
Please note: adding Backboards to your panels will add a further 6mm to the thickness of the Panelling, this means that the total thickness of the panels will be 15mm as the fronts of the panels are made out of 9mm Premium Moisture Resistant MDF. If you require a custom thickness, please Contact Us for a quote.
What are End Posts?
*You Do Not require any End Posts if you are purchasing the Tongue & Groove Style Panels*
The End Posts are the missing parts in a run panels that go end of a run of panels. You typically need 1 Per Wall.
You may also want to add 1 or 2 more end posts extra to your order if you are going around a corner (i.e. if you are panelling a box containing pipe work.)

How do I deal with Light Switches & Power Sockets?
We would always advise you contact a qualified & trained electrician, however, most sockets, light switches etc can be re-situated (providing sufficient wiring is present.)
Most of the time, using DIY Wall Panels without Backboards, the sockets will already be situated in the open parts of the panels, however this is not always the case. We will always advise prior to starting your project you plan where your panels will go – this means simple adjustments with a single panel prior to starting a project can save a lot of headaches down the road!
If you order your DIY Wall Panels with Backboards, we strongly advise you situate all of your sockets on the Backboards of the panels.
Should you not be able to re-locate the sockets, you can simply cut the panels around the sockets using any electrical saw such as a Jigsaw or Circular Saw.
Can I use DIY Wall Panels in my Bathroom or Kitchen?
We use the highest grade Premium Medite Moisture Resistant MDF available, this is widely regarded to be some of the finest MDF on the market.
Because of this, you can rest assured that your DIY Wall Panels will be safe to use in Bathrooms, Washrooms or any place where there might be a damp environment.
However we would not advise placing the Wall Panels in a place where the panels would be in a constant stream of water, for example in a shower cubicle.
Our Environmental Pledge
All of our Wall Panels are made out of sheet materials carrying the FSC Logo.
FSC is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. It was founded in 1993 in response to public concern about deforestation and demand for a trustworthy wood-labeling scheme. There are national working groups more than 50 countries including the UK. FSC UK is a registered charity. It is supported by NGOs including WWF, Greenpeace and the Woodland Trust. Every year an area half the size of the UK is cleared of natural forests; temperate and tropical, North and South and on every continent. These forests, which once covered half of the planet, are irreplaceable and their loss has profound economic, social and environmental impacts. Sixty million indigenous people and countless people and countless species of plants and animals are wholly dependent on forests to live and forests support up to 1.6 billion of the poorest people in the world.
The products of this illegal trade can be found throughout the UK, from building sites to private homes. We think this is unacceptable and we exist to make sure people can buy timber and wood products with the confidence that they are contributing towards safeguarding the world’s forests.
The FSC runs a global forest certification system with two key components: Forest Management and Chain of Custody certification. This system allows consumers to identify, purchase and use timber and forest products produced from well-managed forests.
The Forest Stewardship Council’s “tick tree” logo is used on product labels to indicate whether products are certified under the FSC system. When you see the FSC logo on the label you can buy timber and other wood products, such as paper, with the confidence that you are not contributing to the destruction of the world’s forests.
